Practice schedule issues

Because of high school swimming, there is going to be some disruption in the practice schedule in February. Check it out:

• HB - This Sunday, Feb. 3 at HB is moved to Tuesday, Feb. 5 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6 from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.(there is a meet and besides it is Super Bowl Sunday)
• CSU - Thursday, Feb. 14 Northeast District Swimming and Diving begins with diving that night (assume canceled)
• CSU - Thursday, Feb. 21 Horizon League Meet, CSU's conference (assume canceled)

I am going to look into switching the two CSU dates or adding some HB time to make up for it as this is prime time to gear up for tournaments.

Pittsburgh tourney confirmed, practice Thursday

We have officially entered the March 29-30 tournament at Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh. We will look to bring 12-16 guys to this one.

Signups will be taken first at practice, then it will open up to others on a first come basis. (In other words, come to practice if you want to be guaranteed a spot)

We have practice Thursday at CSU from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Attendance dipped a little last week, let's make sure we are getting consistent numbers to take advantage of full court.

Note - I was not informed about the Senate Athletic Conference Meet taking place last week, my apologies for the confusion. This week should be back to normal.

Tournament Information

Practice as usual tonight at CSU, 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. I am expecting good turnout again, so expect to work on team-oriented drills and move into scrimmaging.

As of now, we are entered in the following tournaments:
1) March 29-30: Carnegie Mellon; Pittsburgh, Pa.

2) April 12-13: Ohio University; Athens, Ohio

We have the option of entering the following tournaments...
- March 1-2: U of Dayton; Dayton, Ohio

- April 5-6: U of Akron; Akron. Ohio

We also have the option of hosting our own tournament. That would require a volunteer group from our club to organize the event.

Most (if not all) of these tournaments are 8-team format using certified refs, we get to play 4 games. Most of the teams are college clubs, some have a mixture like we do and the skill level varies.

Please post your thoughts on tournaments. Of the optional tourneys, which would you like to attend? Would you like to help host a tournament (saving on travel time and expense)?

Thursday at CSU, keep the momentum

We practice from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Cleveland State on Thursday. Please arrive early if you can to help move the goals from the warm up pool area.

Last week there was an awesome turnout, please plan on coming again to have another great practice. This is exactly what we need to gear up for tournament play...

Awesome practice, Sunday at HB

Last night at Cleveland State we had an amazing turnout - 16 guys. Practice was very productive, we had a team warmup followed by shooting, 6 on 5 drills and then a very energetic scrimmage. Thanks everyone!

This Sunday I would love to have a repeat when we meet at Hathaway Brown from 4 to 6 p.m. If you have not been to HB, it is a very nice facility with nice equipent and we have the whole place to ourselves.

CSU Practice Tonight!

We have practice at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at CSU. We had a good turnout last week and we were able to get some good drills and half-court scrimmaging in.
