Week of 9/29, last call for BG

This week we practice Tuesday and Thursday at CSU starting at 7:15 p.m. Please be there both days to help us gear up for BG. Even if you aren't traveling, it really makes a difference to have plenty of guys to scrimmage in preparation.

Sunday at HB is canceled because the team is traveling.

There are a couple spots left for BG (see list below), email me now (LAST CALL). Cost is $25 checks to Cleveland Water Polo Club.

Please email me immediately for BG. I want to get our roster set ASAP. Drive time is two hours flat, Carl has offered to house some people free (Carl, I call any spare bedroom). The field is very good, which includes our nemesis, the Ohio Squirrels.

Practice week of 9/23

We have practice Tuesday and Thursday at CSU at 7:15 p.m., Sunday at HB at 4 p.m.

On Sunday, Akron players are joining us, so we will scrimmage. Thanks to Carl for coordinating that.

Registration forms will be posted here (I will note when they are up) if you did not grab one at the team meeting. Dues must be in by Oct 1.

Sunday at HB is at 1 p.m. so join us with the new time. This was done by popular demand. If you have not been to HB yet, come check it out.

Tuesday's practice at CSU will be one hour followed by a team meeting. Please plan on making it, even if only to the team meeting. We will be discussing tournaments, club structure and other items.

Akron - Oct 18-19

We can also host, but there are some hurdles with that which will be discussed on Tuesday.

Week of 9/7

This coming week we are practicing Tuesday and Thursday at CSU at 7:15 p.m. There will be HB on Sunday. We can move it to 1 p.m. again (Browns play at 8:15 p.m.), let me know your preference.

About Rochester - we need to have at least 10 to swing this. If it doesnt happen, don't fret we are looking at tournaments at Bowling Green, Dayton and Akron, with a possiblity of playing a smaller scale scrimmage against Pittsburgh and other teams.

About fall tournaments - The tournament schedule is not out because Dayton and BG had a scheduling mishap. Akron has not set a firm date, but it will probably be mid-October.

The best you can do is check your calendar for the fall and be open to traveling with two weeks notice (not easy, I know).

Plan on attending practice on Tuesday, Sept 16. We will play for one hour then have our first official team meeting to adopt by-laws and make us official on paper. More details to come.

HB is on for 1 p.m. on Sunday due to the Browns game at 4 p.m.

There are two collegiate tournaments that approached us to fill spots that opened up:

This weekend - Sept 6-7 Michigan State in East Lansing (3 1/2 hour drive)
Next weekend - Sept 13-14 in Rochester, NY (4 hour drive)

If you want to play, please email me now. I personally would be interested in either. We need at least 8 to go to MSU and 12 for Rochester.

Fall session practices, tournaments

Going forward this fall we will have the following practice schedule:

Day/Location/Time/Format
Sundays at HB - 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. - team drills and scrimmage

Tuesdays at CSU - TBD (7 or 7:30 p.m. start time) - instruction focus, game play when applicable (new players strongly encouraged to attend)

Thursdays at CSU - TBD (7 or 7:30 p.m. start time) - team drills and scrimmage

This week at CSU plan for 7 p.m. so you can make it, but I will send a final notice during the day on Tuesday.

Tuesday is our day for newer players to have instruction at a pace designed for players who are still developing skills. This will allow Sundays and Thursdays to be full-speed drills and scrimmages for competitive players.

Our tournament schedule is still being finalized as collegiate clubs return to class. Check your weekend calendars for the fall. We will look to play in three to four tournaments.
