Pittsburgh recap, No HB Sunday, 7/27

11 of us traveled to Pittsburgh Saturday to play in a giant pool all afternoon.

It was a great experience against a good Pittsburgh team, lots of fun and lots of things to improve on in the next two weeks before Pittsburgh joins us at CSU on Saturday, August 9.

Where
Games are being played at a very large public pool within a large county park called North Park
300 Pierce Mill Road; Allison Park, PA 15101 (suburb of Pittsburgh)

Once in the park, follow the signs to the Swimming Pool

Practice at CSU, Pitt directions

We practice this week on Weds at CSU at 7 p.m. Last practice before Pittsburgh. Your last day to get in on Pittsburgh is at practice on Weds.

Cost is $10, checks to Cleveland Water Polo Club.

Carpool info to come when I get address info. First game will be around 1 p.m. So play to leave in the range of 10 a.m. and to return around 7 p.m.

HB on Sunday will be canceled unless I get the sense that everyone wants to play Sunday (I will open it up and play, but I need to hear interest)

Pittsburgh update, HB Sunday

The latest on Pittsburgh is that it is a go. I will be getting directions to their pool. They have all-deep and shot clocks.

There will be a nominal cost (not as much as tournaments this spring). We will play two games, the first one between noon and 1 p.m. Note - this team is a club team similar to ours, not a university team.

We are looking to bring enough guys to scrimmage at HB on Sunday. Please join us at 4 p.m.

Competition against Pittsburgh club, home and away

Mark your calendars for July 26 and August 9 where we will be competing against Pittsburgh Water Polo Club.

For those who attended Carnegie Mellon, we lost a hard fought battle to this club 9-8.

They are very strong, similar to our club in skill and demographics.Details are as follows with more info on the way:

Extra time this week at CSU

We have practice Wednesday, July 2 at CSU beginning at 7 p.m.

CSU has said we can play through until 8:45 as long as we have the pool put back together by 9 p.m.

Let's take advantage of this extra time. Expect another structured practice with scrimmage play. We have had great participation the last few weeks.
