No Akron scrimmage, they were not able to coordinate.
Browns are at 1 p.m. It is ok to play after drinking (been there).

After practice this Tuesday we will grab a beer at a nearby bar with Peppe to send him back home to Italy with a nice impression of Cleveland water polo.
Tuesday and Thursday both start at 7:15 p.m.
Sunday I am working for an Akron scrimmage. Will update mid-week.

Thurs and Sun practice, suits, shirts
Practice tonight (thursday 10/23) is at CSU at 7:15. Attendance has been good lately, enough for scrimmages so tonight is a good time to get back into it.
Sunday, 10/26 at HB will be at 1 p.m. (I try to schedule around the Browns)
We are still collecting dues for practice and the fee for the BG tournament. Wade will be making sure we are all current, checks go to Cleveland Water Polo Club.
If you ordered or wanted to order a shirt or suit, that order is going to be placed soon. Wade and Andrew will be coordinating that.
Again, mark your calendar for Nov. 15 for Akron. Will be one day, I really don't have more details and I will forward everything I hear from them.

Practice week of 10/22, survey, akron
Nice job to those who made it to Akron on Sunday. It was a nice scrimmage.
This week we practice Tuesday 10/21 and Thursday 10/23 at CSU starting at 7:15 p.m. Last week we had 13 guys, so it would be great to keep the numbers steady for scrimmages.
Sunday at HB will be at 1 p.m.

Sunday 10/19 is at Akron
This Sunday, 10/19 we will play at University of Akron (not HB) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. We will scrimmage.
Email me if you need help with directions or getting a ride. If you can, give me a heads up that you are going so I can help Akron estimate numbers.
Last night we had 13 people out at CSU. It was solid. Let's keep it going. Tuesdays are going to be scrimmage focused as well; our new players are picking things up quickly, so not as much need for basic drills.

A special guest, Week of 10/13, AWP, dues
PRACTICE THIS WEEK
Practice this week is on Tuesday 10/14, Thursday 10/16 at CSU at 7:15 p.m. and Sunday 10/19 at HB at 1 p.m.
A SPECIAL GUEST
For the rest of the month we have a special guest playing with the club. His name is Giuseppe Iuppa, he goes by Peppe. He is visiting from Italy where he plays professionally. He is in town for a surgery training course at Cleveland Clinic, but he wants to stay in the water as he will be training when he returns home.
I think it would be great if we could bring as many guys as possible so we can give Peppe some real scrimmage play while he is here. After playing with him Sunday, he definitely has some things to teach us and is really fun to compete with. He plans on being at CSU both days this week.
AMERICAN WATER POLO
After speaking with the membership director at American Water Polo, I determined we should wait until Jan 1 to register because the pro-rated $25 through Dec 31, 2008 is not a good deal as of now.
If you purchased membership already, please email me to discuss as we do not want anyone to incur unnecessary expenses and will seek to get you the best value. I will send out reminders as the time approaches for registration.
DUES
Wade will be contacting those of you still owing dues. Please let me know if you have questions about the fees, suits, shirts, etc. It may have seemed like a lot all at once, so please feel free to contact me with questions.

BG recap, Akron, dues, notes
BG was a great success, we earned 4th place out of 10 teams with a 2-2 record. The team recorded solid wins over collegiate clubs from Xavier University and Bowling Green. Hard fought games were lost to Ohio University and Dayton University.
BG RECAP
There were many bright spots along with some identifiable areas for improvement. From my observations, bright spots included:
- Calm, steady and smart leadership from Eric S.
- Quick hands and aggressive shot blocking from goalie Mo B. who was a presence in the cage in just his second tournament for our club
- Solid team defense that was nearly unbeatable in half court
- Several strong efforts in 6 on 5 situations after drawing numerous kickouts
- Andrew Sweet was 14 of 16 on swim offs, a consistent boost throughout each game
- Notable playing time for club newcomers Rich E. and Scott W. (Akron WPC transfer)
AKRON
The Akron tournament has been tentatively moved to November 15. Details will be forwarded as I get them.
DUES PLEASE
On dues, please bring them in as soon as possible. If you wish to write separate checks for t-shirts and suits, that is ok, the pool fee is the biggie. You can mark your shirt and suit order and we will follow up when the order is placed because we will certainly order in bulk.
NOTES
- Practice this week is Tuesday and Thursday at CSU at 7:15 p.m. Sunday at HB will be at 1 p.m. Many players like this time slot. Feedback is welcome (Browns play Monday Night...no joke)
- I have plenty of interest from newcomers and plenty of experienced guys who we have not seen lately. As I always say, attendance is momentum based. Make the choice to join us, tell someone else you are going and the snowball effect happens quickly

No practice this Sunday, Oct 5 at HB because the team is traveling.
