Water Polo Clinic Agenda

For our participants or those interested in our water polo clinic, here is an agenda for the sessions that will help you know what you will learn from our coaching staff:

Day 1 (April 25)- Basic Rules and Fundamentals

• Basic rules overview
• Fundamental skills: treading water, body positioning, passing/catching/shooting, swimming with a ball
• Water polo terminology

Day 2 (May 2) - Team Play Basics

• Rules continued - understanding types of fouls, shot clock and game clock
• Setting up a 6-person half court formation for offense and for defense
• Understanding referees
• Fundamental skills review with use in team formation

Day 3 (May 9) - Full pool concepts

• Review of rules and fundamentals
• Transitioning from offense to defense
• Team communication and team drills
• Basics of special formations for penalty situations

HB on for 3/29, OU signup

HB is on for Sunday 3/29 at 1 p.m. Practice has been very well attended, keep up the good momentum going into OU.

We practice again at CSU on Thursday, 4/2 at 7:30 p.m.

Thank you to all of you who have gotten your dues in, Wade will be following up to make sure we are all up to date. If you handed in money but no forms, please fill those out as well. The American Water Polo piece is important too. That is just once per year.

OU is April 4-5, please talk amongst yourselves about carpooling and lodging.

We have practice Thursday 3/26 at CSU at 7:30 p.m. Please join us for another fun scrimmage.

A reporter from the Case Observer student newspaper is tentatively set to join us, so please arrive on time and be well behaved!

The team is traveling to Pittsburgh this weekend to play in a tournament at Carnegie Mellon University.
