Thanks to all those that made the trip down to Columbus this past Saturday. Although our record did not necessarily reflect the quality of play, we had a great time. We started off with arguably the best half of Cleveland Water Polo in a long time against our friends from the south - Ohio Squirrels. Perhaps the best play of the half was by Carl, who received a pin-point pass from Kyle with five seconds remaining and promptly drew a 5-meter, resulting in a goal. Tied after the half, the Squirrels promptly put up 3 goals in the first three minutes of the second half. That lead amounted to be a little to much for us, as we played catch up the rest of the game.
In our second game against OSU, we jumped out to early lead 5-2 after the half. Shortly into the third quarter the Buckeyes crept back into the game with 3 quick counter goals. However, we were not out of it, with a few old-man water polo counters lead by Wade and Preetha resulting in retaking the lead. However, after going up on the Buckeyes by a goal with 67 seconds left, the Buckeye attacked proved to be to much, with a last second goal to win the game.
Our final game was against the Bobcats of Ohio... After keeping it close with the Bobcats for the first few quarters, the youth of the cats took over and lead to a sting of counter goals which proved to much for us. However, again there were a few bright spots. Preetha lead the team with 4 assists leading to goals, and Nico lead the team with several key defensive plays.
