Week of June 29, Happy Independence Day

SUMMER DUES
We need to have everyone current with dues and fees as our summer session is underway. Thank to those of you who have already paid.

Please pay your summer session fee of $60 through Paypal at http://www.clevelandwaterpolo.com/. Printable registration forms are linked by the Paypal form. (If you have filled out forms previously, you only need to pay your dues)

You can also pay your Grand Haven fee or your suit fee if you have not already. The suit order has been placed with TruWest (seriously). Scott will update at practice the delivery date.

PRACTICE POLL
Please take our practice poll to answer yes, maybe or no for Thursday and Sunday of this week. We are wanting to check with travel and family commitments for the Fourth of July.

We generally look for at least 6 people to hold a session. Please vote!

GRAND HAVEN RECAP
CWPC traveled to Grand Haven, Mich. to play in a very competitive Midwest summer tournament hosted by 616 water polo. Grand Haven was a very nice Lake Michigan vacation town just down the road from a public beach (good family spot).

Our team played tournament champions nWo of Chicago in our first game and suffered a lopsided defeat. Our second game against the University of Michigan showed signs of offensive revival, but a strong counterattack in the third quarter put the game out of reach.

Day 2 featured closer matches, first against Legends of 616, a master's team of western Michigan players. CWPC dropped a hard-fought, physical game by just 2 goals. The final game featured a mashup of CWPC and University of Michigan vs. Michigan State and Iowa as many players had to leave early. The game was close the whole way, with CWPC/Michigan losing by a single goal.

Thank you to guest players Peter Zien from Ohio University and Eric Brattinga, who joined us unattached from the Detroit-area. Great job to Audry and Kendra Klossner in their first travel tournaments for CWPC, and welcome to Petey, another solid CWRU swim team product.
