Chicago Recap
A good time was had by all at the 2023 Dave Perry Classic outside of Chicago-- as usual we got to see old friends, make new ones, and learned a lot in the water. Some highlights:
Laying it all on the line for CWPC:
Brian-- sacrificing the use of his left leg to make a field block
Jen-- taking a shot off the thumb while fearlessly protecting the cage
Elisabeth-- in her own words, while still bandaged up: "I stopped some guy... with my face."
Hustle awards:
Bob and Andrew M-- combined for an estimated 94% success rate on swim-offs
Annie P and Jacob-- got back on defense like it was personal, shutting down many chances
Aaron M-- played some serious minutes for an impressive showing his first tournament
Best showing of hands while playing hole defense goes to Aaron T, who still got kicked out.
Best steal goes to Andrew O, who jumped into the lane on 5-on-6 and showed some serious hang time to steal a pass by catching it dry cross-face.
And thanks to mercenaries from other teams-- Paul, Isaac, and Chairut, who all scored at least once.
We forgot to take a team picture but here's the closest thing:
